
Donna Donahue is a retired administrative assistant of the Island Trees UFSD, where she was employed in the District Cultural Arts Department for twenty years. She is a recipient of the prestigious Nassau BOCES “Partner in Education Award,” an award that pays tribute to leaders who have made a substantial impact on public education in Nassau County.
During her tenure at Island Trees she received the “Margaret Jenkins Award,” the New York State PTA honorary life membership award that recognizes individuals for their contributions to the welfare of children and youth. She also received an honorary life membership of the “Island Trees Tri-M Music Honor Society.” In 2001, she established the “Kevin J. Smith Memorial Scholarship Foundation” in honor of a New York firefighter killed on 9/11. She enjoys golfing and has been a volunteer at the Annual LT Michael Murphy Golf Classic for several years.
Donna is very proud to be a member of the LT Michael Murphy Navy SEAL Museum organization and enjoys the day to day operations of the museum. The best part of her day is greeting veterans, learning about their experiences, and extending a heartfelt thank you for their service. Donna resides in Wading River with her husband, Jerome; they have two daughters and two grandchildren.
