Ronkonkoma Rotary’s Run Around the Lake is a fundraiser to support veteran causes honoring the men and women who made great sacrifices to protect our great nation. Their mission is to honor Navy SEAL LT Michael P. Murphy and the 19 other heroes of Operation Red Wings, a special reconnaissance unit in pursuit of a high level terrorist on June 28, 2005.
Ronkonkoma Rotary’s Run Around the Lake is Long Island’s largest veteran race and takes place, rain or shine, at Lake Ronkonkoma, NY.
All half marathon in-person participants get a finisher medal. All 4-mile and half marathon participants get a t-shirt and a dog tag!
In coordination with the LT Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation, the annual Run Around the Lake has become a staple event for us to help raise funds and awareness for the Museum. Check out the official Run Around the Lake website for registration details and to get involved.
