The LT Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation is dedicated to supporting educational opportunities to those who portray the very nature of leadership that the Foundation seeks to inspire in people dedicated to ideals that Navy SEAL LT Michael P. Murphy lived. With this scholarship, we are ensuring the opportunity to pursue your educational goals. The LT Michael P. Murphy Scholarship funds are intended to cover direct school related expenses such as tuition, fees, books, and room and board, and the award will be issued jointly to you and your educational institution for deposit in your school account.
LT Michael P. Murphy Museum Member Scholarship Application
Eligibility
The LT Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation is pleased to announce the LT Michael P. Murphy Navy SEAL Museum’s Murph the Protector Member Scholarship. The scholarship is a $2,500 scholarship awarded to a future (high school senior) or current college or trade school attendee. To qualify for consideration of a Museum scholarship, the recipient must have a family member who is registered as a member of the LT Michael P. Murphy Navy SEAL Museum, and may include a parent, grandparent, uncle, aunt, brother, sister or other relation.
Application Process
Fill out the following form and include an essay submission by Friday April 27, 2026. The 300-word essay should answer the question: How does Michael Murphy’s leadership inspire you to better yourself and the world around you? Consider Michael Murphy’s empathy, regard for the underdog and his kindness.

Award Requirements
The LT Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation will present the winner with a check in the amount of $2,500. To be eligible for the award, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- The applicant must have a family member who is registered as a member of the LT Michael P. Murphy Navy SEAL Museum, and may include a parent, grandparent, uncle, aunt, brother, sister or other relation.
- The applicant must be a graduating high school senior who has applied and been accepted to a fully accredited college or trade school. Current college and trade school students are also encouraged to apply. Proof of acceptance or enrollment must accompany the application.
- The applicant should provide a copy of their school transcript.
- The applicant agrees to deposit the scholarship funds within six-months of the award.
Application Review
All applications will be reviewed by the Museum Board Scholarship Committee.
Scholarship Application
This application will not be considered unless all information is completed in full and all requested documentation is provided.
