Community turns out to show it's up to the 'Murph Challenge'
As we remembered and honored those who served our country this past Memorial Day, we also wanted to share the support our community gave to the LT Michael P. Murphy Navy SEAL Museum during the unveiling of the monument honoring Operation Red Wings.
Supporters took a part in the Murph Challenge, an intensive workout starting with a 1-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats and ending in another 1-mile run, all with a 20 lb. vest or body armor. They also raised money for scholarships, the Museum and organizations that help veterans with traumatic brain injuries.
“It’s important, being Memorial Day, that all of us remember all of those who fell in defense of this nation… I like to say when you think about them, they gave their tomorrows for us to have today.”
– Daniel Murphy, father of Michael P. Murphy
