The third Navy SEAL Museum Gala will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Oheka Castle.
Proceeds from our first gala were instrumental in the completion and grand opening of the Museum. As we continue to enhance the visitor experience and honor the SEAL and broader military community with reverence, your generous support makes it all possible.
The guest of honor at this year’s Murph Museum Gala is Captain Richard Phillips, renowned for his remarkable courage during the harrowing 2009 hijacking of the Maersk Alabama by Somali pirates. As captain of the U.S.-flagged cargo ship, Capt. Phillips offered himself as a hostage to protect his crew, demonstrating extraordinary leadership and selflessness under life-threatening conditions. His ordeal—culminating in a dramatic rescue by U.S. Navy SEALs—captivated the world and became a symbol of bravery, resilience, and American resolve. His story, later portrayed in the critically acclaimed film Captain Phillips, continues to inspire audiences and underscores the enduring values of duty and sacrifice.
Members of SEAL Team 6, some of whom may be joining us at the Gala for a reunion with Capt. Phillips, will be honored as well. Guests can also look forward to a thrilling SEAL mission reenactment and a live display of rappelling skills by Navy SEALs from a hovering helicopter on the castle grounds.
